    Early Bird Registration: $29/person.

    Regular Registration: $40/person

See location specific webpages for Early Bird dates by city.

  3. What are my payment options?

You have two payment options when you register.

    1. Pay your full balance early and save.

If you know how many people you're bringing, pay your full balance when you register. This option guarantees space for your youth group at the event (and when you pay in full during Early Bird Registration, you also save $11 per registration.) There's no risk in paying early...The Big Day of Serving registration fees are fully refundable*.

    2. Pay late or at the event.

Since logistically these events are much easier and more affordable to plan when registration numbers are confirmed early, late and at-event registrations increase the cost of the event itself. Therefore the registration fee goes up to $40/person within 30 days of the event.

*Registration fees for The Big Day are refundable up until 30 days before the event. (See the registration page for your event for an exact date.)

Credit cards, checks or money orders are accepted. Visit the Registration page for details.

  4. What if I need to change the number of people I have registered?

    Adding participants:
To add more people to your original registration, simply use the online registration form (be sure to use the same Church and Primary Group Contact name as your original registration.) You may also call 800-366-8948 to add participants.

    Canceling participants:

To cancel your group or reduce the number of participants, use the Drop Participants form. On the form, enter the new adjusted number of people you will be bringing to the event.

If you cancel a participant before the non-refundable date, your registration fee is fully refundable.

If you cancel a participant after the non-refundable date, the registration fee will be forfeited. Forfeited payments may be used to add a new participant to your group. However, they cannot be applied to an account balance or to another group.

  6. Who can participate in The Big Day?

Youth participants, grades 6 -12 (Service projects are not well suited for younger children.)

Yes, you must! Please bring a minimum of one adult (age 18 and above) for every five youth participants.

  8. What about bringing more adults?

Sure, if other adults want to come, bring 'em along! Just make sure to register them with your youth group.

  9. Is it okay to bring a friend or other members of my family?

Absolutely. Just remember:   at least 6th grade, and register them along with your youth group.

  10. What if I want to sign up on my own?

Sorry...you want to make sure you're registered with an attending youth group.

  11. So just how will we be serving?

Participants in The Big Day will complete a variety of projects in a single day.  The projects are selected by the local leadership team in each city according to standards suggested by The Big Day.  They may include painting, minor home repairs, landscaping, cleaning and beautifying city parks, cleaning vacant lots, cleaning schools and nursing homes.

  12. What do you mean by serving in a “neighborhood”?

The work will be concentrated in a relatively small area to maximize the impact of the The Big Day event - preferably a city neighborhood that may encompass homes, parks, vacant lots, schools, nursing homes and more.

  13. Will I be working with the people I registered with?

Yep, you sure will be. Each youth group will be placed together as a team to serve on a project site. And many projects will be big enough that multiple youth groups will be working on them together. Great chance for you to get to know other Christians in the community!

  14. Will there be security and medical personnel on site?

Yes, security and medical staff will be available throughout the day to assist as necessary.

  15. What about lunch?

A sack or box lunch is provided.

There are no special arrangements for participants with diet restrictions or a food allergy. Please bring your own lunch if you have special dietary restrictions.

  16. What should I bring with me to The Big Day?

Each participant should be prepared with the following items.

    • Release of Liability form
    • Emergency Medical Authorization form
    • Water jug/bottle
    • Work gloves
    • Rain gear
    • Sunscreen
    • Long pants
    • Close-toed shoes
    • First aid kit (1 per group)
  17. How is my local community involved in The Big Day?

The local community coordinates all the local arrangements, selecting projects, food, security, materials, tools, etc. Donations for food and building materials come from local vendors, and volunteers for planning and implementing the event come from your community.

  18. Who else will be there?

You'll be serving with hundreds of Christian youth and adults from churches in and around your local area!

  19. What should I know about transportation?

All groups must bring adult drivers with vehicles that can be used, if needed, for transporting your group to and from the projects. If your group charters a bus, please have it available for use in transporting participants to and from project sites. Some event locations cannot accommodate large vehicles so if you intend to bring a large bus, please be sure your location can accommodate one.

  20. I’m not able to participate in person but is there another way I can support The Big Day?

Yes! Donations for food and building materials are always needed to pull off a major event like this off. Click on the donation link to make a donation. Or, to volunteer in planning for the event, visit the Event Specific page for details.
